[ DOWN THE DRAIN AND OUT, I, II, III, IIII ]
Shopping, hopefully bargains
What a beautiful day I must say
Sunny California, Camarillo
From shop to shop, from brand to brand
All so happy & satisfied
What is left?
Outdated old clothes
A detroying life cycle, a pattern of mass production;
From the Flagship stores to the Outlet
From the discounted outlet section, then packed & shipped back to where it came from
(most likely third world countries)
Here we have two options:
1. Transferred to landfills & burned to ashes
2. Flushed or thrown into the sewers, through the stream it ends up in local River
Layers upon layers swirled together
Sewage & chemicals
From the nearby factories to the sheds
Who lives in the sheds?
The poor families of underpaid production workers
Old clothes torn to pieces, wallpaper paste and fabric hardener on canvas
60 x 60 cm
